Engineer IV

Join our team!  Metro's Speed & Reliability group is looking to hire an Engineer IV position to lead a team of professionals whose mission is to advocate and deliver transportation engineering solutions that promote excellent transit service. We are seeking an individual who can represent Metro on various interagency and technical committees, lead and coordinate Metro and project teams related to corridor planning and conceptual development planning, advocate for Metro on major capital projects constructed by other public agencies with significant impacts to Metro operations, provide direct guidance to Speed and Reliability team, and work well with addressing complex, and politically sensitive issues.

About Metro's Transit Speed and Reliability Team
The Transit Speed and Reliability team in the Metro Transit Service Development section is a group of professionals functioning in a high pace work environment.  A main focus of the team is advocating and influencing capital planning and capital project delivery to provide the best possible public transportation service in King County and enable us to better work and build relationships with regional partners.
 
Our team engages in leading corridor planning for METRO CONNECTS frequent, express and local service network, supporting King County RapidRide Expansion Program and working closely with consultants, providing technical support for various Sound Transit Integration related projects, developing transit signal priority policy and guidance to all project managers, and actively participating in various technical forums and committees.

Who May Apply
This fully-benefited Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position is open to the general public and all King County employees.  It is anticipated to last for 3 years and may be converted to Career Service in 2019 pending budget approval by the King County Council. 

This selection process will also be used to create a pool for current and future Engineer IV career service and term-limited temporary vacancies that may occur over the next year. NOTE: If you are a current employee interested in being considered for future Engineer IV career service and TLT vacancies that may occur in the next year, you are encouraged to apply for this recruitment.

Work Schedule
The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; however, alternative work schedules may be considered. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for executive leave but not overtime pay.
