Position Summary
King County Metro's ORCA Business Operations group is a hub for internal communication with all sections using the ORCA system, managing ORCA devices and supporting the system operation as a whole. ORCA Business Operations supports the Pass Sales Office, Mail Center, Business Transportation Solutions, Autoload Office and the Customer Information Office. This support focuses on both direct customer service support as well as managing system issues that affect internal and external ORCA system users. The goal is to reduce the turnaround time for ORCA customer issue resolution and make the system easy for customer use.
This Project/Program Manager I (PPM I) position will research and analyze reported customer and ORCA system issues, as well as identify and implement continual improvements to the ORCA system for end users to improve the customer experience. This position requires highly developed organization and people skills to manage multiple customer and system issues simultaneously. Functional use and comprehensive experience with the ORCA system will be critical for an applicant's success in this role.
Vacancy Information
This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) current career service vacancy. In addition, this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility list for future similar Career Service positions that may occur in this classification within the Transit's Customer Communications and Services (CC&S) Section. The eligibility list would be valid for six (6) months upon creation and may be extended at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Work Schedule
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is therefore eligible for overtime pay if scheduled. The position's base work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The schedules may be flexed from day-to-day to ensure support for CCS frontline staff, but generally are between the hours of 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. System testing may require some off-hours work.
