The King County's Facilities Management Division (FMD), Finance & Payroll Section, wants you to join their team!

This position performs a wide variety of complex accounting, analytical, technical and reporting duties including overseeing revenue collection, financial monitoring, grant reporting, accounting, budgeting, and reporting of FMD's funds, including the Parking Fund.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES YOU WILL BE PERFORMING:
 
  • Processing the transactions necessary to track and collect the revenues associated with the operating funds and Parking Fund.
  • Preparing the quarterly financial forecast, revenue status reports and any ad hoc reports as required.
  • Providing data, analysis, and backup as needed for the biennial FMD budget development process and supplemental ordinance requests.
  • Providing revenue analysis and projections for management to support on-going operations and budget.
  • Tracking and implementing legislation.
  • Performing other budget maintenance activities such as cost projections, cost summaries and fiscal inquiries.
  • Analyzing/preparing or evaluating/approving journal entries, inter-fund transfers, budget revisions.
  • Reviewing expenditures, contracts, and processing year-end transactions.
  • Providing advice and training on the accounting system, reports, forms, and the accounting structure.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
 
  • Four (4) years' experience in accounting, advanced public sector budgeting, finance, managerial and financial accounting, analytical and management systems and working with financial information and financial and budgeting systems.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in the areas of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), operating and capital budgeting concepts and practices, government accounting and finance, contract administration and grants, revenue collection principles and practices and managing the financial aspects of internal service fund.
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Skills in interpreting contract/agreement guidelines, mathematics and statistics, assessing the financial impact of alternative decisions, quantitative analysis, problem solving and structuring financial models.
  • Skill in handling a number of projects or tasks simultaneously and understanding and following technical instructions.
  • Ability to communicate by expressing and conveying ideas effectively with peers and supervisors, including presenting data and detailed report writing,
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, peers, other County agencies and independently.
  • Organization, decision making and planning skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Project Management Skills; tracking and monitoring project activity.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and/or equivalent education and experience.
  • Oracle EBS experience.
  • Knowledge of King County programs, funding sources, policies and requirements.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting and finance.

WORK SCHEDULE: The standard workweek for this position is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. This full-time (1.0 FTE) position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime.
