Transit Warranty Claims Analyst

This position is responsible for gathering and analyzing part failure information to support and maximize warranty recovery opportunities for King County Transit. Following manufacturer procedures, the incumbent process warranty claims for new revenue vehicles, aftermarket parts and special project installations performed within Vehicle Maintenance. This is a single level classification which provides assistance in planning, organizing and maintaining various warranty programs. Incumbents are expected to verify and research failures, submit warranty claims and follow up with vendors to ensure warranty recovery per Warranty Administration requirements. The incumbents may assist with warranty contract specification preparation and works under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Warranty Administration Group.

Work duties may include occasional travel during the work day to vehicle maintenance bases located around King County, with a county provided vehicle.
This recruitment will be used to fill one career service vacancy and may be used to create an eligibility pool of qualified candidates for future career service and term- limited temporary vacancies and Special Duty Assignments that may occur. Eligibility pools are valid for twelve months, or until exhausted, at the discretion of the hiring authority.
Work schedule: Employees in this classification work 40 hours a week Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and are eligible for overtime with advanced supervisory approval.
