The sun is out and it’s a perfect time to enjoy a King County Park

With plenty of activities planned throughout the summer, now is the time to bring your chairs, blankets, snacks and enjoy a relaxed evening in a park.

King County Parks is hosting four outdoor Big Backyard Movie Nights throughout the summer at these unincorporated area locations:

             Saturday, July 8: Ravensdale Park

             Saturday, July 29: Coalfield Park

Saturday, August 5: Cine en el Parque, Steve Cox Memorial Park

             Tuesday, Aug. 22: Tolt-MacDonald Park

             Saturday, Aug. 26: Petrovitsky Park

In Bear Creek, Music in the Park at Cottage Lake Park runs July 13 through Aug. 3. Visit upperbearcreek.com for the list of performers.

And while you’re enjoying our parks, if you see something that needs to be fixed, we want to know about it. We’ve made it easy for you to report issues you find at any of the County’s 200 parks and 175 miles of regional trails. We hope this new tool will improve communication and response times. Download and use the SeeClickFix mobile app on your iPhone and Android devices.

Get ready for a fun — and safe — summer on the water

lifejacket

Warm air temperatures don't translate to warm water temperatures, and even the strongest swimmers can become incapacitated from cold-water shock. Wear a lifejacket. King County, Public Health — Seattle & King County, and the King County Sheriff's Office encourage kayakers, boaters, rafters and swimmers to use caution while enjoying the open water.

For safety information related to boating, swimming, rivers and pools, as well as discounts and information on lifejackets, go to kingcounty.gov/watersafety.
