Veteran's Day 2016
Honoring those who served our country and supporting those here at home in King County.
Dear Friends,
On this Veteran’s Day I am prouder than ever to represent a government that works to treat our veterans like the heroes they are.
My colleagues on the County Council have worked to ensure services for our veterans such as referrals for substance abuse treatment, mental health counseling, transitional housing assistance, and job referral and placement services.
This Veteran's Day I am honored to announce that working with my colleagues we were able to secure funding in the upcoming budget to continue the Vets 4 HIRE Fellowship Program that I helped start several years ago.
Also, King5 News recently profiled the new King County Incarcerated Veteran's program. For the full coverage of this piece follow this link.
Today, please join me in acknowledging all the sacrifices military men and women make for our great nation. Let us pray for them and their families as we honor their hard work and their sacred vow to defend us all.
