Restoration Work Begins in October

Maury Island Natural Area Planting

In the latter half of October, construction equipment will begin arriving on site at Maury Island Natural Area.

Contractor crews will be removing invasive vegetation and replanting three acres of the park, in the area south of SW 260th Street, near the cell phone tower (see larger map).

King County Parks is doing this work in order to comply with our Agreed Order with the Washington Department of Ecology to clean up contaminated soil at the site.

The work is expected to last approximately two months. During this time, short-term, intermittent trail closures may occur during the day for equipment access.
