Happy Friday, Kent!
We kicked off our Spring session of Kent 101 last night! It was fun to see so many new faces wanting to learn more about their city and government!
We hope you will join us for the State of the City address Tuesday, March 14 at Kent-Meridian High School. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
There is so much to celebrate, and I'm looking forward to sharing stories of our success, what we've accomplished, and what's on the horizon.
Have a great weekend!

Legislative session in Olympia
On Monday, I made the trip to Olympia to testify at the Senate Law and Justice Committee. They were hearing public testimony on four bills relating to drug possession and options for getting people into treatment.
You can watch my comments at 1:22:26 right here.
We must acknowledge the massive impact drugs have on our community, both those dealing with the addiction and the larger community dealing with the impacts of those using drugs.
We need the tools to get individuals into treatment and to keep our communities, and our kids safe. Compassion and accountability can exist together.
