East Hill North Community Park
I am so excited for the new East Hill Community Park!
Our Parks team will be out at the new park site, located at 13417 SE 216th St, this Sunday, July 10 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and wants you to come see them.
Staff will be offering site tours and will be available for you to tell them what you want to see in your new park – plus there will be a treasure hunt, snacks, and giveaways!
Kherson Park Renovation
Three, Two, One, Zero. Ignition. And liftoff!
The fences are up and we are officially launching the Kherson Park redevelopment, and I could not be more excited!
Our life-size, interactive Lunar Rover replica and astronaut will be landing at Kherson Park and will be two of the focal points in this new, space-themed park!
This exciting project looks to celebrate our region's legacy of aerospace and new space innovation by memorializing its role in space exploration.
We believe this new and innovative park will inspire today's youth to pursue out-of-this-world opportunities!
To learn more about this project, and the special fundraising campaign that is dedicated to help make this space out-of-this-world through the use of digital technology and experiential play, visit our website.
Flagpole Dedication
Earlier this week I had the opportunity to meet with Congressman Adam Smith (left) who donated a flag that had been flown over the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. and King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer (right).
The City will be holding a special flagpole dedication near the 4th and Willis roundabout, more details to come. Special thanks to the David Malik (middle) family for donating the flagpole and plaque.
Join us at the event with live music provided by Blue Thunder!
📅 Wednesday, July 27 ⏰ Starts at 10 a.m. 📍 Northeast Corner of 4th & Willis

He embodies our values every single day and his commitment to our staff and residents is unmatched. We're so glad to have him at the City of Kent!
