Looks like Juneuary rain is still well underway, but here's hoping for some sunny, warm weather here sometime soon! I can't wait to head out into the community for those summer concerts, farmers markets, parks events and more.

Ride Transit Month
It's Ride Transit Month, so I wanted to remind you of the new Ride Pingo to Transit service in Kent by King County Metro! It's an on-demand service that connects riders to and from Kent Station and the Kent Valley Hub with any destination in the service area.

Community Emergency Response Team
The cities of Kent, SeaTac, Des Moines, Tukwila, Burien and Renton will host a C.E.R.T open house from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 at the Tukwila Emergency Operations Center. (15005 Tukwila International Blvd)
The C.E.R.T or Community Emergency Response Team trains individuals to help themselves and others in emergencies and disasters until other help arrives.
This is another step toward preparing yourself and your neighborhood in case of an emergency, You will find more information about the C.E.R.T open house and program by clicking here.
East Hill Farmers Market
If you haven't check out Living Well Kent's Kent East Hill Farmers Market yet, you should! It's a community driven market increasing access to fresh, healthy, and culturally relevant produce to our community.
All produce sold is grown by immigrant, BIPOC residents who, under the guidance of Living Well Kent, are learning to be successful farmers in the Western Washington climate.

Kent Lions Farmers Market
 The opening day for the Kent Farmers Market hosted by the Kent Lions is coming up tomorrow! So happy to see the return of the season as community members head out for fresh produce and artisan crafts.

Kent International Festival
After two years of being virtual, the 14th Annual Kent International Festival is returning to the accesso ShoWare Center!
📅 Saturday, June 18 ⏰ 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 📍 accesso ShoWare Center
This event is a celebration of the cultural diversity represented in our city, and it's a great way to come together, celebrate various heritages and build respect, understanding and a sense of inclusivity in our community.
It will feature performers, cultural and informational booths and so much more! They are still accepting applications for booths and volunteers, so if you're interested head over to their website to learn more.
Cajun Food & Music Festival
The Cajun Food and Music Festival is bringing some Southern culture and hospitality to historic downtown Kent.
The event will be held in the Burlington Green Park and Railroad Avenue. The adjacent street be closed and will come alive with music performances, food, beer garden, artists/makers, 2nd line parade, vendors, kid’s activities and more!

SPLASH is Back!
I'm super excited to announce that our 4th of July Splash is back with a new look and new time!
The event will go from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Lake Meridian Park. There will be music, food, family activities and games for kids! Please note that there will be no city-sponsored fireworks display at this year's event.
Free shuttles will run from Fire Station 75 (15635 SE 272nd) and Kentwood High School (25800 164th SE), and the shuttle runs from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
