Office of the Mayor

October 4, 2019

Hello!

The City of Kent has some wonderful partners that are good corporate citizens and who are supportive of our community. Republic Services is one of those partners. Last weekend, I was invited to join them in their annual employee rodeo at accesso ShoWare Center. I even got to drive one of their trucks through an obstacle course. It is not as easy as it looks, but working with Republic is. We are grateful that they care so much about our community.

Have a great weekend!

A Day in the Life of the Mayor

Mayor Dana Ralph

Whenever I meet with students, they often ask me what it’s like to be the Mayor of Kent. I tell them that I get to take care of 130,000 people and each day is different.

To get an inside look, South Sound Business followed me for a day to see what a day as mayor looks like. Read more about it here

We held our first Town Hall for employees this week. We had close to 100 employees attend, and we got great suggestions from them. I am excited to hear your ideas too!
