Office of the Mayor

May 31, 2019

Good morning! I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend. On Monday, Kent City Council President and veteran Bill Boyce spoke at a ceremony at Hillcrest Burial Park to remind us that the freedoms we enjoy come as the result of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thank you to Bill for representing us so well.

Memorial Day 2019

Memorial Day unofficially kicks off summer, and I am really excited about all the cool things happening in Kent. Here are a few highlights of what’s coming up in the next week.

Have a great weekend!

~ Dana

Volunteers Needed for Parks & Recreation Commission Board

Do you have a passion for parks? We are looking for volunteers to serve on the Parks & Recreation Commission Board. The board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, and they help guide our vision for Kent Parks. This was one of my first volunteer experiences with the City, and I learned so much. It was a great way to see how decisions are made and to contribute to the conversation. If you have an interest in our parks, I encourage you to get involved – just apply online here!
