City Council Supports Two Upcoming Ballot Measures
At the July 21 City Council meeting, following public hearings and opportunities for public comment, the Kenmore City Council unanimously adopted two resolutions in support of upcoming ballot measures appearing on the August primary election ballot. The resolutions support:

• Public Hospital District No. 2, Proposition No. 1 – Levy Lid Lift for Healthcare Services
• King County, Proposition No. 1 – Parks, Recreation, Trails, and Open Space Levy Renewal

Both ballot measures could have direct impacts on Kenmore. The city is part of the EvergreenHealth hospital services district, and the proposed King County Parks Levy renewal for 2026-2031 includes a $15 million allocation for the Lakepointe Regional Park under the new park development category focused on water access on Lake Washington, if the measure is passed.

Celebrate National Night Out at the Kenmore Farmers Market – August 6
Join your neighbors for National Night Out on Wednesday, August 6 at the Kenmore Farmers Market and in Town Square from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. This annual event is all about building stronger, safer neighborhoods through police-community partnerships and neighbor-to-neighbor connections.
Meet Kenmore Police Officers, explore special police equipment and vehicles, and learn from local organizations working to support safety in our community. Also, enjoy family-friendly activities, giveaways, and all the fun of the weekly Kenmore Farmers Market!

Kenmore to Proclaim July as Disability Pride Month
At the July 28 City Council meeting, the Kenmore City Council will officially proclaim July 2025 as Disability Pride Month in Kenmore. This proclamation recognizes the history, achievements, and contributions of people with disabilities, while affirming the city's commitment to equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all.

A special thank you to community member Elisabeth Sotak, who brought the idea forward during the July 14 Town Hall meeting and will be accepting the proclamation on behalf of Kindering, an organization that serves more than 100 Kenmore children each year through education and therapeutic services for children of all abilities. Join us in celebrating Disability Pride Month and continuing the work of building a more inclusive Kenmore.

New Meeting Agenda Portal Improves Access and Transparency
The City of Kenmore has launched a new Meeting Agenda and Minutes Portal designed to provide a more user-friendly experience for the community. The updated platform includes enhanced accessibility features and now offers live and archived streaming video of City Council and Planning Commission meetings directly within the portal. A tour of the new software was shared at a recent City Council meeting and can be viewed here.

This new system supports the City's efforts to increase transparency and public access to City Council discussions, decisions, and meeting materials. We invite the community to explore the new portal and stay engaged.
