Emergency Shelters, Transitional Housing, Emergency Housing and Permanent Supportive Housing (STEP Housing) Advisory Committee Kenmore residents, business owners, and students over 16 are encouraged to submit a letter of interest to serve on the STEP Housing Advisory Committee. Interested applicants must send their letter of interest via e-mail to clerks@kenmorewa.gov by March 17. The City Council will select a minimum of six members who represent a range of interests and perspectives on the topic of STEP housing. The Committee will provide an advisory report to the City Council later this year on proposed amendments to the City’s zoning regulations regarding STEP Housing.
STEP stands for indoor emergency Shelter, Transitional housing, Emergency housing and Permanent supportive housing. Washington state communities like Kenmore are required to plan for these types of housing to help people who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing homelessness.
