Automated Photo Enforcement in School Zones Begins Monday
Kenmore Automated Photo Enforcement (KAPE) will be active starting Monday, September 11. This means the photo enforcement cameras are active and speeding tickets will be issued beginning on Monday in the Kenmore Elementary School Zone and the Arrowhead Elementary School Zone. The beginning of the school year can catch many of us by surprise – so remember to slow down and adjust your commute time accordingly. As a reminder, our school zone flashers start 75 minutes before the start of the school day and remain on until 15 minutes after school starts, and turn on again 15 minutes before the school day ends and remain on until 75 minutes after the last bell. Children's Business Fair and More Weekend Happenings
Come and check out the Kenmore Children's Business Fair this Saturday from 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm at the Kenmore Hangar in Town Square! The Kenmore Children's Business Fair is an opportunity for kids of all ages to experience the excitement of starting their own small business. There will be 50 young vendors selling their products at this year's fair, including published authors, artists of all kinds, horticulturalists, jewelers and more. These vendors are kids from our local communities that have worked hard to create their own products and we hope that you will swing by and support these blooming entrepreneurs. Thank you to Thoughtful Citizens for planning and hosting this amazing event, a true love note for the Kenmore community!

Climate Action Plan Workshop This Tuesday, September 12
You're invited to attend a Climate Action Plan Workshop on September 12 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at City Hall. This hands-on workshop will provide community members the opportunity to weigh in on their priorities for upcoming climate action initiatives in Kenmore. The workshop is free and open to all ages (with kids activities provided). Don't miss your chance to be a part of Kenmore's planning to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and reach carbon neutrality by 2050. Can't attend the event? Regional Crisis Response (RCR) Agency Community Visioning Process and Free Mental Health Kits at City Hall
The Regional Crisis Response (RCR, pronounced ‘racer’) Agency is a newly formed, collaborative effort among the north King County cities of Bothell, Kenmore, Kirkland Lake Forest Park, and Shoreline that will provide consolidated and standardized mobile crisis response services for the five-city region. RCR is holding three Community Visioning Sessions in September and you're invited to help shape the development and implementation of crisis response services in our area. This will be a discussion-based workshop designed to bring together varying perspectives and define success for the RCR Agency. The first session is on Monday, September 11, from 2 pm to 3 pm at Shoreline City Hall. Find out more here.

Do you know someone in need of a mental health pick me up? Kenmore Cares! Kenmore Cares Mental Health Kits are now available at the front desk of City Hall and at the Senior Center in Rhododendron Park. Anyone can come by during regular business hours and request one for themselves or for someone else. The contents include a deck of cards with mental health advice, a sleep mask, a pack of gum, a stress ball, and a chocolate with an inspirational message inside.
