The Kenmore Top 4: July 8, 2022

On June 27, 2022, the Kenmore City Council unanimously passed a Resolution in Support of codifying comprehensive Reproductive Healthcare, including abortion, and Marriage Equality in the Washington State and United States Constitutions. The resolution expresses the City Council's official position supporting amendments to the Washington State and United States Constitutions that aim to pass laws affirming an individual’s right to reproductive healthcare, including abortion, and marriage equality. 

At the Monday, July 11 meeting, Kenmore City Council will consider adopting a 6% cable TV utility tax. In 2020, Kenmore City Council adopted the Financial Sustainability Plan (FSP), which was developed by a task force of community members to balance the City's budget through 2028. the FSP resulted in a combination of reductions in expenditures and new revenues to ensure the City maintains healthy fund balances. The plan calls for one of those new revenues, a new cable TV utility tax of 6%, to begin in the second half of 2022.
