The Kenmore Top 4: June 3, 2022

Recently, Kenmore City Council unanimously voted to adopt the first City of Kenmore Climate Action Plan (CAP). The CAP establishes actions the City and community can take to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and reach carbon neutrality by 2050, and provides strategies to adapt to future climate change impacts.

The Log Boom Park Waterfront Access & Viewing Project is wrapping up with the goal of being open to the public by the end of June! Artwork by Jennifer Dixon is being installed next week and final permits are being approved as we prepare for the community to enjoy a greatly improved park experience.

Kenmore City Council meetings are moving towards a hybrid format that will allow the public to attend and participate in-person or virtually. The council chambers were updated with new technology that will support the hybrid format. The hybrid format will be used for the first time this weekend at the City Council Retreat on June 3 and 4.

The West Sammamish River Bridge Project is almost complete. Starting Monday, June 6, crews will begin on the last piece of work needed before the northbound bridge can be paved. Expect lane restrictions on the northbound bridge, and pedestrians detoured to the southbound bridge until mid-August.
