Register Today! New 5X Business Accelerator Series to Start February 1
In 2016, the City received a grant from the Port of Seattle to support local community economic development in Kenmore. Since, the
City has invested in providing business acceleration training titled the "5X Series." This program is designed to help local business owners and managers to accelerate profitable and sustainable business growth. The first series hosted in 2016 was a great success as local business leaders found the series to be very helpful. The next wave of training and consultation
series begins Wednesday, February 1.
Savor Rare Images From Kenmore’s Past At Kenmore Gallery Starting February 3
The Arts of Kenmore Gallery at City Hall will host an exhibit, “A
Pictorial Celebration of Kenmore History," opening Friday, February
3 and running through March 2. On display will be historic photos
and artifacts dating back to the settlement of Kenmore in 1901 by John
McMaster, who built a shingle mill on Lake Washington.
The public is also invited to a reception and entertaining program
at City Hall from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17. Members of the
Kenmore Heritage Society and others will share and discuss their personal
favorite photos from Kenmore’s past.
Coffee with Council February 6 & 18
The Kenmore City Council invites citizens to Coffee with Council on Monday, February 6 at 7:30 a.m., and Saturday, February 18 at 8:00 a.m. at Starbucks, 7750 NE Bothell Way. Citizens are encouraged to attend these informal sessions to ask questions, discuss issues and offer suggestions on any topic of interest. Take advantage of this great opportunity and get to know your City Council.
Kenmore Senior Center to Celebrate Anniversary February 8
The Kenmore Senior Center will host a “birthday party” celebrating 17 years of programs and 13 years making a home in Rhododendron Park from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8.
Festivities will include birthday cake, refreshments and door prizes. The event is free to the public and for all ages. The Kenmore Senior Center is located at 6910 NE 170th Street, inside Rhododendron Park.
Community Resource Day at Cascadia College February 24
Stop by the Community Resource Day on Friday, February 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Cascadia College to connect to essential services available in your community. This event is free to the community and includes assistance with public housing, education, safety, transportation, food, employment, and much more. The event will be held in Mobius Hall at Cascadia College, 18345 Campus Way NE, Bothell.
West Sammamish Bridge Replacement Open House Overview
An open house was held on Thursday, January 26, for the West Sammamish Bridge replacement project.Over 40 participants attended the open house, which included project display boards and a presentation. The presentation highlighted the history of the bridge, the proposed design concept,
anticipated construction phasing, project schedule and impacts to the boat
launch.

Avenue and NE 182nd Street Crosswalks – A number of crosswalks were stripped recently, including the three crossings at NE 182nd Street
and 68th Avenue NE.
Other Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) Crosswalks –
Four additional RRFB crosswalks were completed from the Neighborhood
Transportation Plan Projects (NTPP). Signage, RRFB's, and markings were installed at 73rd
Avenue and NE 185th Street, 61st Avenue and NE 197th
Street, 84th Avenue and Simonds Road, and 68th Avenue and NE 190th Street. Advanced signage for the
crosswalks will be completed in the next few days. Additionally, flashers were installed along Moorlands Drive.
Daniels Real Estate to Hold St. Edward Seminary Tours February 11
Daniels Real Estate has been selected by the Washington State Parks Commission to lead the restoration and reuse of St. Edward Seminary. On Saturday, February 11, Daniels Real Estate will be hosting 30 minute tours starting at 10:15 a.m. to showcase the basement, a classroom on the 1st floor, 2nd floor dorm-rooms, the library and chapel. The dining hall and kitchen will be open for viewing at any time.
At 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Daniels Real Estate will provide a brief presentation about the reuse project and answer questions. Light refreshments will be provided during this family-friendly event. Service dogs are allowed.
In its current condition, the building is not ADA accessible and there are no elevators. The Washington Trust for Historic Preservation has created a short video that shows the tour route and rooms to be visited.
