The Washington Society of Addiction Medicine (WSAM), in collaboration with the CHOICES, FIRST Clinic, the University of Washington Substance Use Recovery and Intervention Program (UW SURE), and the Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute (ADAI), are proud to present the 2026 WSAM Addiction Medicine Summit: From Hospitalization to Recovery. We invite you to join us, in community with advocates, clinicians, researchers, and system leaders to examine and reimagine how hospitals can serve as powerful entry points for addiction care. Round table discussions will include:
- Managing pain, sedation, and surgical care for patients with substance use disorders (SUD).
- Implementing shared decision-making across hospital, primary care, and behavioral health systems.
- Discharging patients with SUD to skilled nursing facilities.
