Attention providers:
Effective January 1, 2026, the Health Care Authority (HCA) is publishing updates to the Family Planning Billing Guide to align with WAC 182-532-001 and to make other changes.
What is changing?
Revisions include:
- Added definition for “Clinically appropriate” and “Family planning related services and supplies”
- Added information about services available through the Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) benefit
- Updated purpose statement for the Family Planning Only program
- Clarified reimbursement for HCPCS code G0101
- Added information on vaccines that are available at no cost from the Department of Health through the Childhood Vaccine Program and the federal Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program
- Removed “Clients age 19 and older” from CPT® codes 90471 and 90472
- Revised language to indicate that “clinically appropriate” family planning services are covered in the Family Planning Only program
