The Health Care Cost Transparency Board (Cost Board) is holding its Public Hearing on Thursday, November 20. At the hearing, the Cost Board will:
- Discuss Washington’s established health care cost growth benchmark, which is a specific goal that annual health care spending should stay below.
- Share health care spending compared to the benchmark and general affordability measures through 2023. This is a starting point for the Cost Board in looking at cost growth overall and monitoring historical cost increases for Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial markets.
- Hear from expert panels focused on:
- Consumers and labor
- Business
- Payors and industry

During the Public Hearing, there will be a designated time for public comment. To provide your input during this time, please use the raise hand function in Zoom or raise your hand if you are attending in person. We encourage you to sign up for public comment by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19.
You can also submit written comments at any time. All feedback is shared with Cost Board members.
