Changes for 2026
Below are some important changes coming to your Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) Program benefits. All changes are effective January 1, 2026, unless otherwise noted. View the announcement for the full list of changes.
UMP Plus plans closing
UMP Plus–Puget Sound High Value Network and UMP Plus–UW Medicine Accountable Care Network medical plans will no longer be available after December 31, 2025. UMP Plus subscribers must choose a new medical plan during open enrollment or they will be automatically enrolled in UMP Classic.
Hearing aid coverage
Hearing aids will no longer be capped at a specific dollar amount. Members must see an in-network provider to receive hearing aids or they will not be covered by the plan, and the member will have to pay for them out of pocket. Members can use the hearing aid benefit every 36 months.
For UMP members, the hearing aid benefit is being changed to an allowed amount for one prescribed hearing aid per ear every 36 months. Members may be responsible for hearing aid charges exceeding the allowed amount.
Consumer-directed health plan (CDHP) deductible
The IRS minimum deductible for CDHPs will increase to $1,700 for individual coverage and $3,400 for family coverage.
Employer-paid long-term disability (LTD)
The maximum monthly benefit for basic (employer-paid) LTD insurance will increase from $240 to $450. Employee-paid LTD premiums will decrease by six percent.
