Washington State All Payer Claims Database (WA-APCD) launches new data driven insights page

The links in this bulletin have been corrected to lead to the new webpages.

WA-APCD has launched a new data-driven insight page to show how WA-APCD users are transforming data into action.

The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) data driven insights page has links to new data resources, including:

OIC mental health dashboard.
OIC cost trend analysis dashboards.
Balance billing dataset.
Fertility treatment analysis.
Affordability studies with examples of WA-APCD data used in legislative reports.

Washington State OIC uses WA-APCD data to improve the understanding of market dynamics and promote a stable insurance market that includes healthy competition based on quality and cost.

What is the WA-APCD?

The WA-APCD develops and supports health care cost and quality transparency reporting. It uses data to inform policy decisions about the quality of health care and to reduce health care costs and disparities.

The WA-APCD lets stakeholders access datasets for research, innovation, and improving health care through its data request process.
