Attention providers:
Effective September 1, 2025, the Health Care Authority (HCA) is publishing updates to the Hospice Services Billing Guide to align with WAC 182-551-1200 and to make other changes.
Revisions include:
- Clarified that eligible Apple Health programs must include hospice as a covered benefit
- Clarified that certification of a six-month or shorter life expectancy requires supporting documentation
- Clarified that hospice agencies are responsible for verifying client eligibility
- Added definition for “authorized health care representative”
