What CHPW will do
As the apparent successful bidder, CHPW will serve as a claims clearinghouse and third-party administrator, providing support to carceral facilities participating in the Reentry Initiative. The goal is to reduce administrative burden and help these facilities navigate the credentialing process and other initiative requirements.
About the Reentry Initiative
This initiative provides essential, pre-release services for individuals leaving incarceration. Incarcerated individuals who are Apple Health (Medicaid)-eligible will receive a set of services up to 90 days before their release. These services will help ensure a person’s health and successful reentry to their community.
About our RFP process
In November 2024, we posted a request for proposals (RFP) in Washington’s Electronic Business Solution (WEBS). In the RFP, we asked qualified vendors interested in serving as the third-party administrator for the Reentry Initiative to submit their proposal by Thursday, January 23, 2025.
In December 2024, we met with interested vendors and discussed project details and the timeline. Vendors also had the opportunity to ask questions before the proposal deadline. We evaluated proposals based on a published set of questions and scoring methodology.
Next steps
We will begin contract negotiations with CHPW, with contract work starting May 1, 2025. We will post the contract—once final—on our Reentry from a carceral setting page.
