The Health Care Cost Transparency Board (Cost Board) is holding its first Public Hearing on December 12. At the hearing, the Cost Board will:
- Discuss Washington’s established health care cost growth benchmark, which is a specific rate that carriers and providers should try to stay under to make health care more affordable for consumers.
- Share health care spending data and benchmark performance through 2022. View the executive summary of our findings. This is a starting point for the Cost Board in looking at cost growth overall and monitoring historical cost increases for Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial markets.
- Hear from three panels focused on consumers, health plans and providers, and business and labor representatives.

During the Public Hearing, there will be a designated time for public comment. To provide your input during this time, please use the raise hand function in Zoom or raise your hand if you are attending in person. We encourage you to sign up for public comment by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
You can also submit comments in writing at any time. All feedback is shared with Cost Board members.
