JYNNEOS (Smallpox and Mpox vaccine) expiration date extended for four lots that were set to expire on October 31, 2024

This bulletin is being sent by the Health Care Authority (HCA) on behalf of the Department of Health (DOH).

This is a provider alert from the Washington State Department of Health Office of Immunization and Office of Infectious Disease regarding the extension of expiration date for JYNNEOS.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has extended the expiration date of JYNNEOS vaccine from 10/31/24 to 08/31/26 for the following lots that have been stored at -25°C to -15°C (-13°F to 5°F):

FDP00018
FDP00019
FDP00020

Requested actions

Check your current inventory of JYNNEOS vaccine.
Include revised expiration date on cartons of JYNNEOS for lots FDP00017, FDP00018, FDP00019, FDP00020 and in the Washington Immunization Information System (WAIIS).
Continue to offer JYNNEOS to those who are eligible and encourage individuals who only received 1 dose to finish their 2 dose series.
JYNNEOS is currently available on the commercial market. DOH is exploring ways we can improve JYNNEOS vaccine access.
