On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the Universal Health Care Commission will meet to discuss:
- Principles of cost sharing in a universal system
- Update about Apple Health Expansion
- Office of the Insurance Commissioner's Health Care Affordability report

This meeting and all future UHCC meetings will be hybrid meetings. This means attendees can either:

- Attend in person to view and participate in the Zoom meeting at the Health Care Authority (HCA)

Washington State seeks to establish a universal health care system for all residents, where people have access to affordable, high-quality health care. SB 5399 passed during the 2021 legislative session, creating a Universal Health Care Commission to aid in this effort.
Can I provide public comment or testimony?
Yes. Your input is a crucial part of our process. We share all public comments—written and verbal—with Commission members.
Every Commission meeting will have a designated time for public comment. Sign up to provide public comment by 5 p.m. on October 9. We will invite individuals who sign up before the meeting to speak in the order of sign up, followed by those who did not sign up.
You can also submit written comments by email at any time. Comments received at least two weeks before a meeting will be included in the upcoming meeting’s materials; comments received less than two weeks before a meeting will be included in the following meeting’s materials.
