Attention Home Health providers:
Effective for dates of service on and after January 1, 2024, all Home Health Care Services (HHCS) provider organizations must submit claims for HHCS with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) data elements. The Health Care Authority (HCA) has been providing technical assistance and should not deny HHCS claims submitted without the required EVV data elements at this time.
Also, during this period of technical assistance, do not include the servicing provider’s national provider identification (NPI) number on the claim until the servicing provider’s enrollment has been approved by HCA. Once approved, submit the servicing provider NPI on claims only with dates of service after the approval date.
If claims were submitted with a servicing provider NPI and the claim denied with a Remittance Remark Code N290 – missing/incomplete/invalid rendering provider primary identifier – resubmit the claim without the servicing provider NPI.
For additional information on EVV, please visit HCA’s EVV HHCS website.
Please send questions or concerns to HCA via the EVV HHCS email box.
