Background
Starting Jananury 1, 2025, the PEBB Program will offer standalone vision coverage, which means routine vision coverage will be separate from your medical coverage. Employees will be able to choose a vision plan from Davis Vision by MetLife, EyeMed Vision Care, or MetLife Vision during annual open enrollment, October 28 through November 25, 2024.
Notification
This is to notify you of three letters that will be mailed to employees on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, explaining the change in vision for 2025, and the action they need to take during open enrollment.

Employees enrolled in medical – This letter will mail to PEBB employees who are enrolled in medical coverage, except for those who work for employer groups that offer medical-only coverage, to let them know that the vision coverage provided through their medical plan will end December 31, 2024. During open enrollment, October 28 through November 25, 2024, they will need to enroll in a vision plan or they will automatically be enrolled in MetLife Vision for 2025.

Employees who waived medical – This letter will mail to PEBB employees who have waived medical coverage, to let them know that during open enrollment, October 28 through November 25, 2024, they will need to enroll in a vision plan or they will be automatically enrolled in MetLife Vision for 2025.

Employees enrolled in medical-only group – This letter will mail to PEBB employees who work for employer groups that offer medical-only coverage, to let them know that the vision coverage that is included their medical plan will end December 31, 2024.
