The process for entering newly eligible employees in Benefits 24/7, effective the first day of school, has changed from the previous method used in SEBB My Account. Here’s what you need to know:
New Process in Benefits 24/7:
When entering an employee’s social security number and effective date to create their demographic record, a checkbox labeled "Subscriber’s first day of work is on or before the first day of school" will appear if a September date of eligibility is entered. Checking this box will set the effective date of benefits to the employee's date of eligibility. Note: The checkbox should only be used if the employee is starting work on or before the first day of school.
Key Change:
SEBB organizations can no longer update the first day of school directly in Benefits 24/7 as they did in SEBB My Account. Instead, Benefits Administrators (BAs) will see a checkbox with the statement: "Subscriber’s first day of work is on or before the first day of school."
-
If checked: The effective date of coverage will match the date of eligibility.
-
If unchecked: Coverage will start on October 1, 2024.
The system is now ready to accept newly eligible employees with a September date. Employees will be able to create a login and make their elections on their date of eligibility.
