Transition Assistance Program (TAP) 2.0: Looking Ahead

Webinar: Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is designed to support Foundational Community Supports-Supportive Housing enrollees. This time-limited, flexible funding assistance covers housing-related fees, including move-in costs, first and last month’s rent payments, deposits, and non-refundable fees. TAP aligns with the Community Behavioral Health Rental Assistance program (CBRA), Section 8 (project-based and Housing Choice Voucher), and other longer-term rental assistance programs.

Join TAP program manager Maureen Maples to learn about proposed upcoming changes to TAP and how they might affect the community members you serve.

Join the Northwest ATTC and the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling (ECPG) for their upcoming summer webinar series on problem gambling.

This unique virtual series will feature three-hour sessions on Thursday, July 11. This series is free to attend; 3 continuing education credits are available.

SWOT Analysis of Problem Gambling/Gaming

Attendees will receive a thorough analysis of everything they need to know if they are considering integrating problem gambling/gaming in peer work or treatment work through an existing behavioral health program. The SWOT analysis will address the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (i.e., challenges) of PG/G integration.

Fidelity review agencies praised for partnership, improvement

We are excited to announce the Foundational Community Supports agencies that hosted fidelity reviews, participated as reviewers, or became part of the Fidelity Reviewer Cadre Feb through May! Fidelity reviews are critical for an agency to improve services. They also offer the ability to learn the depth of the IPS format and to network with other agencies providing these same crucial services. We learned a lot from the 20 agencies working together this year.

This session will be a moderated panel and include public funders of supportive housing. Learn about funding requirements and processes, and considerations that prospective applicants should keep in mind.

ACES Transition

Friday, July 19

The ACES system will be undergoing a behind-the-scenes transition to improve functionality beginning the evening of Friday, July 19, 2024, through Sunday, July 21, 2024. Once the transition is complete, there will be no system differences noticeable to clients and eligibility staff.

Expected impacts

ACES will be unavailable throughout the transition
Washington Connection will also be unavailable throughout the transition
Additional systems, like ProviderOne, Barcode, eJAS, Washington Healthplanfinder, and others, will have some functionality impacted during the transition, if they need ACES data

Call for Foundational Community Supports team photos.

We are soliciting pictures of FCS’s teams doing great work together or networking with partners in their community to share as part of our upcoming FCS/GOSH learning symposium (No participants pictures, please). We are hoping to celebrate teams coming together internally as well externally in order to serve all of the folks enrolled in FCS across the state. If you would like to share your photos with us, Please send to Kimberly Castle or Jackie Velasco.

Call for Foundational Community Supports Success stories.

We are also soliciting participant success stories from providers. Sharing of success stories is vital to show how Supportive Housing and Supported Employment services provide hope and move people forward in their recovery. The stories inspire others who may need Housing and Employment support to access Foundational Community Supports services. Legislators and funders also need to see opportunities of success to validate the importance of continuing to provide funding for the services

There are a few different ways to share these successes.

An agency or participant can write their story.
Provide a write up along with pictures and/or video.
Connect with our HCA communications team to participate in an interview to share the success story.

If your agency would like to be part of this great work and have participants, landlords, or employers who want to share their story how FCS has made a difference in their life. Please contact us by email at HCAEmpAssist@hca.wa.gov.

Please be sure to include contact information including full name and email address, send any Protected Health Information in a secured format and include the HCA media release. We will follow up with you for additional information and/ or an interview as requested.

Foundational Community Supports (FCS) is an initiative of Medicaid Transformation. It allows qualified providers to receive Medicaid reimbursement for delivering supportive housing and supported employment services for people with the greatest and most immediate social and health needs.
