Attention providers
What is changing?
Effective for dates of service on and after July 1, 2024, providers can expect many of the policy sections within HCA’s Physician-Related Services/Health Care Professional Services Billing Guide to have a new look. These changes do not affect the policy itself; however, they do change the look and feel of the policy.
Background
Over the last year, HCA has been slowly making updates to the structure and format of the policy sections within HCA’s Physician-Related Services/Health Care Professional Services Billing Guide. To date, HCA has updated around 25 policies, including, but not limited to, cochlear implants, drug eluting or bare metal stents, and upper endoscopy for GERD. HCA will continue to make these structural and formatting changes, publishing an update each quarter, until the entire guide has been updated. This new structure and format will improve the clarity and usability of the policy sections within the guide.
For more details, refer to the What has changed table inside the updated guide, which is located on HCA’s Provider billing guides and fee schedules webpage. Check the webpage often. HCA will load the revised billing guide as soon as it is finalized for publishing.
