Change Healthcare security breach

On February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare, a part of UnitedHealth’s Optum, experienced a data breach. This is causing nationwide disruption in electronic prescribing and claims submissions to payers.

The Health Care Authority (HCA) would like to ensure that all Apple Health clients have access to their prescription drugs. HCA would like to know if pharmacies are experiencing any issues with submitting claims and getting paid for prescriptions dispensed to Apple Health clients with the six Washington Apple Health programs, including fee-for-service.
