2024 distressed hospital grant (DHG): now accepting applications

The Health Care Authority (HCA) is currently accepting applications for the distressed hospital grant (DHG) as outlined in RCW 74.60.100 for calendar year 2024.

DHG funds will not be made available until the satisfaction of conditions in RCW 74.60.150(1), which includes CMS approval. However, HCA is proactively moving forward with the application process to not delay processing of the application and disbursement of funds once conditions are met.

How to apply

Download the application

Go to HCA's Hospital reimbursement webpage.
Click the Hospital Safety Net Program heading. The heading will expand to reveal subheadings.
Under the Distressed Hospital Grant heading, click the link to the 2024 application. This will download the application to your local machine.

Complete the application

Follow the instructions.
Include the requested attachments.
Return the electronically signed application to the email listed in the application.

Deadline for submission

Return completed applications by Friday, March 8, 2024.
