Apple Health (Medicaid) Provider Alert

Attention Home Health providers:

Reminder: effective for dates of service on and after January 1, 2024, all Home Health Care Services (HHCS) provider organizations must submit claims for HHCS with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) data elements. HCA is currently providing technical assistance and will not deny HHCS claims submitted without the required EVV HHCS data elements at this time. This will ensure home health providers have the opportunity to use HCA’s technical assistance to provide the necessary data elements and continue to serve the Medicaid population.

Each organization that provides HHCS must implement EVV for HHCS which includes enrolling all HHCS individual servicing providers with HCA. Only a few billing providers have enrolled their individual servicing providers with HCA.

As soon as an organization has implemented EVV for HHCS and enrolled individuals, claims must be submitted with the EVV HHCS data elements. HCA encourages billing providers to implement EVV and begin sending data on claims as soon as possible.
