Upcoming Listening Session Opportunity

Sharing on behalf of The Aging and Long-Term Support Administration's Office of Housing and Employment

The Aging and Long-Term Support Administration’s (ALTSA) Office of Housing and Employment is preparing to release a new funding opportunity for housing based on feedback we have received from housing providers like you. We received funds from the last Legislative session to offer new Global Leasing funds to partner with our supportive housing services and rental subsidies. But before we finalize the upcoming request for proposal (RFP), we want to make sure that we got it right. We want to hear from you.

In recent years, we have had a chance to speak with many of you about the housing provider challenges that come with housing people with high barriers. Specifically, costs that cannot be covered by traditional rental subsidy programs, such as unit turn over, vacancy payments, general liability insurance and staff time.

We are designing a new program to help mitigate these expenses so we can elevate our work of supporting clients to live independently in the community. These funds could be used in units you own, manage, or in units you lease to provide subleasing opportunities for referred ALTSA clients.

We are seeking to incorporate your ideas and feedback in preparation of the release of this RFP. We have two upcoming listening sessions to hear from you. Please consider joining.

Please contact Jonathan Carollo for more information.

Listening Session 1:

Tuesday, December 5 at 10 a.m.

Listening Session 2:

Friday, December 8 at 1 p.m.

FCS Survey

Please use the link below to complete a survey designed to gather your input on the learning communities that Rutgers University faculty have facilitated over the past five years for Washington's Foundational Community Supports (FCS). Specifically, we are looking for your feedback on the Landlord Outreach, Buried in Treasures, Job Developers, Supported Employment Supervisors and Supportive Housing Supervisors learning communities.

Our goal with this study is to examine the impact of utilizing learning communities to improve behavioral health providers’ skills and knowledge in Supported Employment and Supportive Housing services in our FCS programs. We are hoping you will support us in this important endeavor.

If you would like additional information about this study, please contact Nora Barrett at nora.barrett@rutgers.edu.
