About the report

Bree guidelines are informed by the current best available clinical and scientific evidence from the literature and a consensus of expert opinion and are intended for use in addition to, rather than a replacement of, other published clinical guidance.
Recommendations are intended for:
- Perinatal providers
- Providers and clinics working with pediatric patients
- Outpatient perinatal care clinics and facilities
- Birthing hospitals
- Health plans
- Purchasers
- Public agencies
- Urban Indian health organizations
- Other relevant audiences

- The workgroup reviews and uses public comments to develop the report submitted to the Bree Collaborative for adoption.
- The final guideline will be submitted to the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA). This state agency oversees Apple Health (Medicaid), the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) Program, and the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Program.
- Collaborative guidelines guide state purchasing policies for these programs.
- The Collaborative also works to promote implementation of the recommendations across Washington State.
