The Health Care Authority (HCA) is sending this message on behalf of the Department of Health (DOH).
The Washington Association for Community Health, Washington AIDS Education and Training Center, and Washington State Department of Health are partnering to offer a monthly webinar series that will help health care providers leverage the whole care team to address patients’ sexual health Friday, September 15.

Learning objectives
- Understand, identify, and address the risks between STIs and HIV, specifically syphilis.
- Describe the recommended regimens in the CDC STI treatment guidelines.
- List the preferred-over-alternative regimens in the guidelines.
- Discuss the emerging and ongoing challenges of the leading STIs.
About the presenter
Hillary Liss, M.D., is a board certified physician at the Adult Medicine and Madison clinics at Harborview and a UW associate professor of General Internal Medicine. She is also medical program director of the Northwest AIDS Education and Training Center and a trainer for the Seattle STD Prevention Training Center.
Dr. Liss considers the doctor-patient relationship to be a partnership. Working in cooperation with patients over time to identify and manage their health issues is very rewarding to her. She strives to work as a team with patients to maximize their health and quality of life.
Dr. Liss earned her M.D. from the University of Maryland. She spent two years volunteering to help establish a medical school at Kathmandu University, Nepal, before returning to Harborview Medical Center. Her clinical and research interests include Internal medicine, HIV, STDs and women's health.
