Washington State Peer Network launch
The Washington State Peer Network launched events on the east and west side of the state last month, with full attendance! The event was an opportunity to network, collaborate, and build lasting connections and partnerships.
The program manager for the network shared reflections: “I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible success of the events and express my heartfelt appreciation for everyone's contribution. First and foremost, I must commend the dynamic speakers who graced the stage during the events. Their passion, knowledge, and ability to connect with the audience truly made a lasting impact. Each speaker brought a unique perspective and shared valuable insights, inspiring us all to strive for greatness and embrace our full potential. Their presence contributed greatly to the overall success of the event.”

Washington State Behavioral Healthcare Conference
On June 15, the state's behavioral healthcare conference was held, bringing together professionals, experts, and stakeholders from the behavioral health field.
Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of informative sessions. Attendees also networked, collaborated, and exchanged ideas with peers through lively discussions.
Following the conference, a peer reception event was held to honor and recognize the contributions of individuals with lived experience in mental health and substance use. This special gathering celebrated the power of peer support and highlighted the importance of including the perspectives of those who have personally navigated the challenges of mental health conditions and substance use disorders. The reception fostered connection, building supportive networks, and further advocating for the inclusion of peer voices in behavioral health initiatives.
Peers Empower Peers conference
On June 17, Peers Empower Peers (PEP) held their fifth annual conference, their first back in-person since the pandemic. This year’s conference theme was “Peer & Simple: It Starts With A Balanced You!”
The conference focused on the importance of self-care, both in recovery and in sustaining oneself as a helping professional. Rather than just talk about self-care, the entire day was centered around ways to nourish and care for oneself and others.
The PEP Board awarded the inaugural “PEP Award” to our very own, Amy Griesel! Learn more about the organization and conference at the PEP website.
