On Tuesday, June 13, the Universal Health Care Commission (UHCC) will meet to discuss:
- The Finance Technical Advisory Committee’s (FTAC) recommendations to the Commission on Medicare
- Guidance from the Commission to FTAC on the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)
- A potential health equity framework
- Incorporation of the Washington Health Trust bill (Senate Bill (SB) 5335, (2023)) into the workplan
- Continued discussion on transitional solutions
This meeting and all future UHCC meetings will be hybrid meetings. This means attendees can either:
- Log into the Zoom meeting
- Attend in person to view and participate in the Zoom meeting at the Health Care Authority (HCA)

What's the UHCC?
Washington State seeks to establish a universal health care system for all residents, where people have access to affordable, high-quality health care. SB 5399 passed during the 2021 legislative session, creating a Universal Health Care Commission to aid in this effort.

Yes. Your input is a crucial part of our process. Every commission meeting will have a designated time for public comment. To sign up to provide public comment, please contact us at HCAUniversalHCC@hca.wa.gov by 5 p.m. on June 12. You can also submit comments in writing at any time. We share all public comments with UHCC members.
