April Health Care Cost Transparency Board meeting coming up

On Wednesday, April 19, the Health Care Cost Transparency Board will meet on Zoom. During this meeting, the committee will discuss:

New member application for the Advisory Committee on Data Issues
Claims-based measurements from the Advisory Committee on Primary Care
Second-level analysis methodology for the Washington hospital costs, price, and profit analysis
Historical review of the data collected and the methodology for the benchmark
Updates to the 2023 benchmark data call

What’s the Health Care Cost Transparency Board?

The board is responsible for reducing the state's health care cost growth by:

Determining the state's total health care expenditures.
Identifying cost trends and cost drivers in the health care system.
Setting a health care cost growth benchmark for providers and payers.
Reporting annually to the Legislature, including providing recommendations for lowering health care costs.
