The 2023 Behavioral Health Provider Survey is now underway. The Health Care Authority is working with Washington State University’s Social & Economic Sciences Research Center (SESRC) to conduct the survey. The survey is open to Department of Health licensed, community-based behavioral health treatment agencies that provide publicly funded mental health and substance use disorder treatment services.
We would like you to be aware of the survey getting underway so that you can encourage your network providers to participate. Agencies that participate in this important survey will receive a custom-made report comparing their agency profile with that of similar agencies in the state.

The survey collects information regarding services and clinical staff to help identify opportunities for:
- Improving the quality of behavioral health treatment services in Washington State.
- Meeting federal and state reporting requirements.
- Informing policy at the provider and state level.
The survey is an opportunity for behavioral health treatment agencies to share the services they provide, the improvement efforts they are currently undertaking, and the diversity of their behavioral health clinical staff.
