UW psychiatry consultation line is now open to non-prescribers

The Health Care Authority (HCA) is sending you this information on behalf of our partners at the University of Washington.

What is the psychiatry consultation line?

The University of Washington (UW) psychiatry consultation line (PCL) is a free provider-to-provider resource funded by the State of Washington. It connects health care providers throughout Washington with UW psychiatrists to expand support for treating adult patients with mental health and substance use disorders.

Now any prescribing or non-prescribing health, mental health or substance use care provider in Washington may call to consult with PCL psychiatrists about their adult patients with mental health or substance use conditions for free.

PCL psychiatrists can answer questions regarding mental health and substance use assessment, diagnostic clarification, and medication management.

Call or schedule

  • Call 877-WA-PSYCH (877-927-7924) or schedule ahead using Calendly.

Additional psychiatry consultation lines

Coupled with PAL for Kids and Perinatal PCL (PAL for Moms) – specialty psychiatry consultation lines focused on children and adolescents and pregnant or post-partum patients – UW Psychiatry has developed a robust psychiatric consultation system to help health care providers who are seeing an increased caseload of patients with mental health and substance use conditions.
