Updated SBHS billing guide

HCA has updated the School-Based Health Care Services (SBHS) Program billing guide:

SBHS billing guide (October 1, 2022-present)

Updates to the guide include:

  • Clarification on which CPT/HCPCS codes can be billed through audio-only telemedicine
  • Link to HCA's new resource Confidentiality Toolkit
  • General clean-up and clarification throughout the guide

Please note: The SBHS COVID-19 FAQ will be removed from the SBHS webpage on September 30, 2022. All SBHS telemedicine billing information can now be found in the SBHS billing guide.

About the SBHS Program

The Washington State School-Based Health Care Services (SBHS) Program is administered by the Health Care Authority (HCA). School districts participating in the SBHS Program may receive reimbursement for providing health care-related services to Title XIX Medicaid-eligible students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
