- Contributions to Prevention by an Organization, Business, or Agency

Help Ticket Reminders
- We are sharing out a reminder that all Help Tickets submitted through Minerva 2.0 must be under 250 characters in length. If a ticket has more than 250 characters in length, it will not be submitted to the Minerva 2.0 Help Desk. If you have a ticket that exceeds this character length, please send an email to support@collaborateandgrow.com.
Seeking members for school safety council
The School Safety and Student Well-Being Advisory Council’s Youth Advisory Council (SS-SWAC-YAC) is seeking new membership for the 2022-23 school year.
Feel free to share the membership recruitment message.
Membership is open to youth between the ages of 13–19 who live in Washington State and are currently attending a K-12 school, or have attended one in the past two years.
Nominations are due by 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 18.
National Overdose Awareness Day
Overview
Each year on August 31, National Overdose Awareness Day (NOAD) is observed to remember the lives taken by overdoses, without stigma or shame. Overdose death is preventable. Everyone can take simple steps to prevent opioid misuse and keep your loved ones safe.
This Overdose Awareness Day, remind your communities that 75 percent of opioid misuse starts with people using medication that wasn’t prescribed for them—usually taken from a friend or family member. Locking up medications or safely disposing of unused medications can stop them from being misused. People can protect their loved ones by finding a medication take-back program near them.

Rural Prevention Conference
The Rural Network, a group of volunteers and leaders across Washington state who work towards building resiliency and preventing youth substance misuse in rural communities, are hosting their first annual Rural Prevention Conference September 22 – 23 at the Yakima Convention Center.
This conference will be an opportunity for those doing youth substance prevention work in rural areas to meet in person, and share ideas for helping to create healthy, thriving rural communities free of substance misuse, focusing on strategies that work in rural areas.
