Moving ForWArd: Get involved by raising awareness in your community

The end of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) is expected to initiate the largest health coverage transition since the first open enrollment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Help us connect with the community to ensure Washingtonians do not lose their Apple Health coverage when the COVID-19 PHE comes to an end.

Apple Health community connectors

Many times, it is hard for our community to access Apple Health (Medicaid) programs and services due to language barriers, transportation, lack of engagement, etc. We invited community partners as volunteer Apple Health community connectors to share messaging and ensure Apple Health clients have the information and resources needed to maintain coverage when the PHE ends.

Advocates, community leaders, school districts, and managed care plans are just a few organizations participating in the community connectors program.

Apple Health community connectors:

Raise awareness around Apple Health and actions clients need to take to maintain coverage, such as updating their information.
Share tools and messaging to reach and engage clients.
Create cohesive voice through consistent messaging and share culturally and linguistically competent messaging to clients and community partners.

How can providers help the community?

With every client interaction you share important information about how clients can stay heathy and access services. Being an Apple Health community connector gives you access to resources like talking points, key messages, and helpful tips to keep your clients insured when the PHE ends.

It’s not too late to volunteer as a community connector. No matter your level in your organization you can get involved.
