We need your help! Update Apple Health client contact info

In preparation for the unwinding of the Public Health Emergency (PHE), the Health Care Authority (HCA) is starting our report a change campaign to remind our Apple Health (Medicaid) clients to update their contact information so they receive important notices about their coverage. The current PHE is set to expire on July 15, 2022. HCA will be notified 60 days in advance of the PHE ending. Learn more about the Apple Health and the PHE.

We are working on a communications and social media toolkit with content and messaging for our partners to use. In the meantime, we need your help!

How can I help?

If you or your team interacts directly with Apple Health clients, we are asking you to implement a process to have staff verify or update client contact information at every interaction.

This includes:

Address (physical and mailing)
Phone number
Email

How will this help clients?

Updating client contact information ensures they will receive important notices about their coverage including renewal and eligibility review letters. This will reduce phone calls to HCA, Managed Care Organizations, and partner agencies.

When should we start?

Please implement process changes as soon as possible. We are requesting that you continue to prioritize contact information updates at every client interaction.

What kind of messaging should we use?

You can use the text example below of a banner we have on our public website that directs clients to our Report a change webpage to craft your messaging.

We will keep you updated through GovDelivery with changes to the PHE and share our toolkits once they are complete.
