About the survey
Each year, HCA surveys health plans and providers to measure value-based purchasing (VBP) adoption and related barriers and enablers.
We use the Paying for Value surveys to track VBP adoption and progress toward HCA’s VBP goals and find ways to improve current and future work. This includes health plan contracts, HCA’s Value-based Purchasing Roadmap, and more.
The survey results span a range of VBP topics, including:
- Health plan and provider participation in alternative payment models.
- Enablers and barriers to VBP adoption.
- Health equity programs and data collection.
- Impact of COVID-19 on VBP.
