CRIS Steering Committee announces its subcommittee members
Earlier this year, the Washington State Legislature passed House Bill 1477, establishing the Crisis Response Improvement Strategy (CRIS) Committee and Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is responsible for developing recommendations for an integrated behavioral health crisis response and suicide prevention system.
To help with this work, the Steering Committee formed seven subcommittees:
- Credentialing and Training Subcommittee
- Technology Subcommittee
- Cross-System Crisis Response Subcommittee
- Confidential Information Compliance and Coordination
- Rural and Agricultural Communities
-
Lived Experience (open to all individuals and families with lived experience; this subcommittee won’t be limited in size)
-
Tribal 988 Subcommittee (facilitated through the Tribal Centric Behavioral Health Advisory Board)
The Steering Committee selected subcommittee members for their diverse community perspective and professional expertise.
When will the subcommittees meet?
All subcommittees will convene on Thursday, December 2, from 12-2 p.m. in an All-Subcommittee Kickoff meeting.
At this meeting, subcommittee members will receive an overview of the work to date to assess Washington’s current behavioral health crisis response system. Subcommittee members will also hear implementation updates from the Department of Health and Health Care Authority to support launch of the 988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline in July 2022.
Are subcommittee meetings public meetings?
Yes, all subcommittee meetings are open to the public. There will be an opportunity for public comment at the end of each meeting.
Where do I go for more information?
We will be sharing meeting materials and other information on our CRIS committees webpage next week. For questions, contact HCAprogram1477@hca.wa.gov.
